Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Corporate Tax Accountant is a key Member of the Branch team. This role is responsible for keeping track of work the tax advisors complete (financial statements and tax returns); reviewing it for reasonableness, follow up with the Tax Advisor if any obvious information is missing and handing it off to the corporate processing team who review the work in detail and process the corporate tax return.


This role works closely with the tax advisors, the local branch team and the corporate processing team to ensure that the Members’ work is processed and filed in a timely manner.

OVERVIEW OF Corporate Tax Assistant TASKS

Keeping the T2 Tracker (spreadsheet) updated with information on each corporate tax product prepared and completed
Completing reasonableness checks prior to sending corporate bookkeeping, financial statements or tax information to the corporate processing team
Printing, Assembly, and Mailing of completed Corporate Tax Returns, bookkeeping and Financial Statements
Assisting the Corporate Processing team with the annual completion of T4’s, T5’s and ASAI applications.


Education and Experience

Post-secondary education in accounting or bookkeeping would be considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with well-developed telephone skills
An aptitude for learning
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize appropriately
Working knowledge of MS Office – Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Basic tax, accounting, or bookkeeping experience would be considered an asset
